The First Day at Work

Clara wakes up very early today. It is her first day at a new job, and she is a little nervous. She chooses a white shirt and black trousers.

The office is on the fifth floor of a tall building. At the reception, a young man says: “Welcome! You must be Clara. I'm Pedro, your manager.”

Pedro shows her around the office. “This is the kitchen, the meeting room is over there, and this is your desk, next to the window.”

On her desk there is a new computer, a notebook and a plant. A colleague, Sofia, comes to say hello. “If you need help, just ask me,” she says.

At ten o'clock there is a team meeting. Clara introduces herself: “Hello, everyone. My name is Clara and I'm the new designer. I'm happy to be here.”

At lunchtime, Sofia and two other colleagues invite Clara to a small restaurant on the corner. They eat pasta and talk about their weekends.

In the afternoon, Clara gets her first task: to draw a new logo for a bakery. She works hard and forgets to be nervous.

At six o'clock, Pedro looks at her drawings. “Great work for a first day!” he says. Clara goes home tired, but very happy.
