The Forgotten Garden

Deep in the heart of the countryside, there was a place that time seemed to have forgotten. It was an old botanical garden, surrounded by high stone walls covered in ivy. Most people in the village spoke of it only in whispers, telling stories of rare flowers that glowed under the full moon.

One Saturday morning, I decided to find the entrance. After walking for nearly an hour through a dense forest, I saw a rusted iron gate. To my surprise, it wasn't locked. As I pushed it open, the hinges made a long, piercing sound that echoed through the silence of the trees.

Inside, the air felt different—cool and scented with jasmine. There were statues of ancient figures half-hidden by overgrown ferns, and a stone path that led toward a greenhouse made of glass and bronze. Despite the neglect, the garden felt alive, as if the plants were watching my every move.

I spent the entire afternoon exploring the winding trails. I found a small pond covered in water lilies and sat there to write in my journal. It was the first time in months that I felt truly inspired. I realized then that some things are more beautiful when they are left wild and free from the outside world.
